The pair Meta trailed as a camera-free answer to its privacy problem now has a name and a price. Ray-Ban Meta Audio drops the cameras entirely and starts at $349, shipping on October 13.
At 43 grams it undercuts the camera models, which run between 51.5 and 53.8 grams. Meta claims 12 hours of listening per charge and another 48 hours from the case, with 23 colour and lens combinations across Clubmaster and Burbank frames, prescription support, professional-adjustable temple tips and swappable nose pads.
Buyers who still want cameras can pick the Gen 3 range: priced from $449 and available immediately. Meta claims a nine-hour runtime, one microphone more than before for a total of six, and unchanged 3K video capture. Slimmer shells and wider fit adjustment round out the update, which arrives in 27 combinations spanning the Aviator, Wayfarer and cateye Zena shapes.
Two features arrive later by software update: landscape photo and video capture, and Dolby Atmos recording with spatial sound.
A cheaper route into the line exists too. Meta’s first-party Adventurer frame, black with grey lenses and a plug-in case, starts at $249 on October 23. Once Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta-branded options are counted together, the company projects over 100 styles and colourways available by the close of the year.
