Tender Claws has built Body Proxy, a location-based experience that turns Ray-Ban Meta glasses into the engine of an AI-driven game.
In the piece, AI agents watch, speak to, and listen to players through the glasses as they attempt real-world tasks. The system judges how well each task is done, making the physical room and its objects part of the story. There is no digital visual overlay; the immersion comes from the AI understanding what players are doing.
Onlookers can follow along on a physical screen that lists the challenges and shows each player’s avatar and score.
The studio behind Stranger Things VR and The Under Presents says Body Proxy is its first project using AI glasses. Co-founder Danny Cannizzaro said the team drew on immersive theatre, describing the piece as a narrative recruiting and onboarding process for a fictional company.
Body Proxy won the SXSW 2026 XR Experience Jury Award and was selected for TIFF: The Market 2026. Tender Claws plans free-roaming versions that can travel across different spaces and more events this year and next.
