Qualcomm expects eyewear to keep leading the charge among post-smartphone personal AI gadgets, with clip-on pins and pendants lining up as the next wave.
Ziad Asghar, the company’s senior vice president and general manager for XR, wearables and personal AI, described a category pulling heavy attention and a constant flow of new hardware. Behind it, he said, pendants and pins are appearing for buyers who would rather skip glasses altogether.
The remarks came during a media Q&A at Snapdragon Summit 2026, Qualcomm’s flagship chip event, where the company has been pushing AI hardware beyond phones.
The read matters because Qualcomm supplies the silicon behind many of the smart glasses now on sale, making its view on category momentum a signal for hardware watchers.
