Samsung’s first pair of Android XR glasses has cleared FCC testing and now carries a November release window, according to new filings and a company official.
Two devices listed only as “Smart Glasses” were granted FCC equipment authorization on September 27 under the identifiers A3LSMO200P and A3LSMO200J. The applications were filed July 22. Both grants cover Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios, with no LTE or 5G bands, so the frames cannot reach a mobile network on their own.
The two model codes point to different frame partners. The P variant maps to Warby Parker, the J variant to Gentle Monster, the two eyewear brands Google and Samsung lined up to style the range. Every photograph of the hardware stays sealed under a confidentiality request until March 26, 2027.
The Korea Herald, citing a Samsung official, says the launch lands in November. No exact date or event has been confirmed. The first models skip a display and carry a camera, putting them against Meta’s Ray-Ban line rather than a heads-up screen.
Samsung teased the glasses through 2026, including gesture controls tied to the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring. In a category where display-free frames took 96% of first-half shipments, a second mass-market challenger arriving before the holidays shows the fight is over price and style, not screens.
