Snap finally unveiled its long-awaited augmented reality glasses — called Specs — at the Augmented World Expo 2026 on June 16, offering a fully standalone AR device priced at $2,195 that ships this fall.
Specs are built from Swiss TR90 polymer and come in two sizes: a 47mm narrow fit weighing 132 grams and a 52mm wide fit at 136 grams. The glasses require no battery pack or cable tether. They are powered by dual Snapdragon processors and feature a proprietary liquid crystal on silicon display system with a 51-degree field of view capable of rendering 16 million colors — equivalent to a 24-inch desktop monitor or a 115-inch cinema screen in your line of sight.
The electrochromic lenses shift from clear to tinted in 10 seconds, using the same technology found in Boeing 787 Dreamliner windows. Control is handled through natural voice commands and simple hand gestures, with no controller required. Pre-orders opened immediately following the announcement, with shipments expected in fall 2026.
