India opened sales of Meta’s third-generation Ray-Bans on October 1, the latest market to get the glasses. Pricing starts at INR 44,300, and Meta has signed Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as the face of Ray-Ban and Ray-Ban Meta in the country.
Buyers can find them at meta.com, in.rayban.com and assorted consumer-electronics, optical and eyewear shops. Meta attached no standalone date to the release and left the cost of prescription lenses unstated.
Gen 3 reached the United States a week earlier, priced at $449, with a new action button and an extra hour of battery life. India gets the current model rather than a stripped-down edition.
Three styles make up the range: Aviator, Wayfarer and Zena, a cat-eye shape new to the line. Buyers choose from 27 color and lens pairings, and a vintage-colored Aviator edition marks that frame’s 90th birthday.
The hardware keeps the 12MP camera and 3K video of earlier pairs, adds a six-microphone array that Meta says cuts more than 90% of background noise, and lights an LED while recording. A customizable button shortcuts to Meta AI, and a dynamic photos feature lets the wearer pick the best frame after a shot.
The camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio is coming to India too, at 43 grams with up to 12 hours of assistant talk time and 48 hours from the case. Meta gave no price and no date.
Muse, the AI agent slated for the glasses, stays months away. Meta says it arrives “in the coming months” with wake-name access and the ability to act on what the wearer sees. In the meantime, buyers in India will use Meta AI with the glasses.
