ENGO has taken its ActiveLook heads-up display technology into cycling. The engo3 Cyclist is a road and gravel model that floats training data inside the rider’s field of vision, so nobody has to glance down at a bike computer mid-effort.
More than 40 data points are available, including widgets for heart rate, estimated watts and power zones coded red, yellow and green the way professionals see them on a dashboard. A double tap changes screens. Structured workouts on Garmin watches and Edge head units stay in sync, and Bluetooth 5.4 links the frame to radar units such as the Varia range. A car closing from behind brings up distance and speed in the display, and the faster it comes, the sooner the warning lands.
The frame grew to 140mm by 60mm for aerodynamics, up from 137mm by 58mm on the running version ENGO sells. Temples slide under a cycling helmet, and both they and the nose pads adjust. An IP55 rating covers sweat, rain and road spray, and the company claims more than 20 hours of battery.
Pricing starts at $399.95 in the US, 299.95 pounds in the UK and EUR 349.95 in Europe. Photochromic lenses that adapt across categories 0 to 3 push that to $449.95, 349.95 pounds and EUR 399.95, and four frame colours are offered.
