Eyewear owners may soon be asked to pick between two assistants. Reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong posted a setup prompt on X that reads “Enable Impacc as your glasses assistant?”, and Impacc appears to be the internal name for Muse, the autonomous agent Meta has been building.
The screen offers a toggle to make Muse the default assistant for connected eyewear, notes that the feature is in beta, and promises wearers can switch back to Meta AI whenever they prefer.
More revealing is the list of features the same prompt marks as not yet available. It names Live AI, navigation, Shazam song identification, Strava and Health Connect integrations, which together describe a pair of glasses that tracks a run, guides a wearer home by voice and identifies the music playing around them.
Payments are the second thread in the leak. A further screenshot shows Meta building a wallet for the agent under the name Meta Pay for Muse, with Stripe’s Link and Shop Pay named alongside it. Put the two finds together and they point at an assistant able to complete a purchase on the wearer’s behalf.
The calendar sharpens the point. Meta’s Connect keynote lands on September 23 and is expected to include a camera-free pair built around voice, from a company that already ships most of the world’s smart glasses. Changing the assistant underneath that hardware looks like the software half of the same argument.
