A product listing that went live early on a Valve partner store has detailed an official color passthrough camera add-on for the Steam Frame headset.
The page, spotted on Komodo Station and captured by Reddit user gogodboss, shows an Arcturus Vision Camera built by Arcturus Industries, the firm behind Frame’s camera tracking system. Steam Frame ships with monochrome passthrough only, used mostly for computer vision tracking.
According to the listing, the module packs dual 32-megapixel sensors with 10-bit HDR capture and a 64mm interpupillary distance. It records 5K stereo video at 60 frames per second natively, with special configurations reaching 72 or 144 fps, and offers a 125 by 105 degree binocular field of view. Beyond color vision, the page lists real-time environment mapping, spatial video recording and Gaussian splatting capture with companion tools.
The accessory plugs into expansion hardware Valve built into Frame: a Gen 4 PCIe slot, two MIPI connectors and dual 2.5 Gbps lanes. Valve says it plans to publish official CAD files so the community can design its own add-ons.
The leak lands as Steam Frame nears what looks like launch. Units have been imported in bulk, FCC filings are done, setup videos have leaked, and Valve is reportedly bundling Half-Life: Alyx as a free promo copy. Price and release date for the headset itself remain unannounced.
