A clip-on sensor for Speedo’s Vanquisher swim goggles promises to grade how well you swim, not just how fast. The iQ module tracks the mechanics of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly without getting in the way.
The system watches how your head moves in the water, times each breath, and measures the distance covered per stroke. That data streams to a phone app instead of a heads-up display, so a swimmer gets the full breakdown after climbing out of the pool. The module pops onto a fresh pair of Vanquisher goggles whenever the old pair wears out.
Speedo positions the gadget as a subscription-free trainer, and it is cleared for World Aquatics competition. A starter kit pairing the goggles with the module costs $189, with several color choices shipping now.
By skipping the integrated screens used by rivals like Form, Speedo keeps the price well below the premium tier of smart swim eyewear while still giving amateur athletes a coach’s eye on their stroke.
